Meet Ashley Schofield, RMT

Ashley Schofield

Ashley joined Bearspaw with Dr. Josline in May 2009.  She offers her massage therapy clients the benefit of nearly a decade of experience in massage therapy and yoga instruction.  She is also schooled in reflexology and aromatherapy.  Ashley caters her treatments to improving the muscular health and joint mobility to her client’s needs.  She can provide a relaxation massage to enhance circulation and decrease stress hormones, or apply deeper tissue pressure to reduce muscular restrictions that can benefit posture and sport performance.

As a new mom, Ashley is also committed to providing exceptional pre and postnatal care.  She uses the body bolster system so that moms-to-be are still able to lay on their bellies and be in optimum position for baby safety and to release muscular tension.

Ashley is passionate about staying active – running, yoga, weights, or dancing – and has had injuries too and understands these negative setbacks.  Regular massage therapy can reduce the reoccurrence and length these injuries put us out for.  She doesn’t want muscular pain to get in the way of her clients living the lives they want.  The optimum goal is to get patients pain-free in their day to day living.

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~Harold Whitman

Get to Know Laurie, RMT

“I feel blessed and excited to be apart of the Unity Wellness team!” Laurie is originally from Edmonton Alberta and has graduated with 3000 hrs from Makami Collage. She is thrilled to have finally found a place that offers so many natural healing modality’s under one roof! “My inspiration to become a massage therapist started when I was managing a financial business. After years of working at a computer, I developed carpal tunnel. The doctors told me the only way it could be reversed if I opted for surgery. I decided to seek out natural therapies instead and trusted in massage, chiropractic and acupuncture. With about six months of treatment, I was no longer in pain. I could go to the gym and run on the treadmill with out my hands going numb! Today my condition is manageable and under control with my treatment plan.” Laurie specializes in deep tissue, sports therapy, and orthopedic massages. She also offers many treatments including:

  • relaxation massage
  • pregnancy massage
  • hot stone therapy
  • lymphatic drainage (this is great for shedding water weight before your wedding day and very beneficial for pre and post surgery. It’s this is especially helpful if you have a lot of edema build up after surgery.

Laurie also completed her 500 hr YOGA teacher training with Agama University in Thailand. Health = wealth… keep your self wealthy by staying healthy.
